Douglas Invitational Art Show and Sale

The show was organized in 1992 as a benefit for the Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum.  The event is held in the 15, 900 square foot facility located on the Wyoming State Fair Park.

The fourteenth annual Douglas Invitational Art Show will be held August 12-14.  This weekend coincides with the start of the Wyoming State Fair.  The show will begin with a "Meet the Artists" reception and presale, by reservation, Friday, August 12, from 7-10 p.m. Saturday the show is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  As in the past, we will have a Silent Auction on Friday night and a Quick Draw on Saturday afternoon.  We encourage demonstrations by artists during the show.

Each artist is allotted an 8' x 8' wall space to display original paintings.  Sculptors are offered 8' tables.  Matted prints may also be sold.  There will be a miniature wall for artwork up to 9" x 12".  The show will retain a 20% commission for the sale of originals, 30% for prints, and 25% for Giclee prints.  All sales associated with the show are subject to commission.  The Show is responsible for all advertising costs.

It is important that artists are present during the entire show, and that new works are presented each year.  Due to limited space we must rotate the participants.

The Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum has a permanent art collection, and has traditionally purchased a piece from the Douglas Invitational to add to its collection.
